EREC: erotic romance » Dog Ear jumps on the Romantica Train
Self-publishing service Dog Ear Publishing seems to have noticed that a lot of people want to publish romance. Their latest Google AdWords campaign reads:
Bring Your Passion Alive
Publish your romantic novel, story or "romantica". Let your heart free www.dogearpublishing.net
This does bring a few questions to mind:
1) How long before they get a threatening letter from Ellora's Cave for trademark infringement?
2) Are those "ironic" quote marks?
3) How exactly is one mean to parse: let your heart free? Is it rental advice? [Link]
Fierce Romance » No title
Since it's game day–meaning THE Super Bowl, as Hubby puts it (like there's any other)–I know what you're all expecting, but I simply could not find any pictures of hot football players to post. I looked, but when I searched, I ended up with bikini-clad chicks holding strategically placed soccer balls over parts of their surgically-enhanced anatomies. Gack. This tells me two things. 1) More guys search for sexy pix of football players than women do and 2) Every other country in the world uses the term "football" to describe "soccer" except the USA.
Because of this, I thought I would write about another sport instead, one fill ed with passion and romance, and one with which I am intimately familiar. So today I'm posting a little about competitive ballroom dance, one of the most beautiful and artistic sports known to humankind. Can you tell I'm biased? lol
Yes, ballroom dance is a sport. It's called DanceSport, and there are organizations that govern it and everything, just like other organized sports. The nice aspect of DanceSport is that even after a couple quits competing, they can dance socially for the rest of their lives if they want. That's what my husband and I have done.
We started out just interested in social dance, but because of the lack of dance opportunities in our local area at the time, we thought we'd try competing at the novice level, which is for beginners. It gave us the chance to travel to competitions and hear great … [Link]

RomErotica Writers » The Dark Side of Valentine's Day
I write seductive suspense and often my writing focuses on the dark side of life. Murder, mayhem, magick, ghosts, goblins, and even a zombie or two, they are all fodder to my imagination and my keyboard.
When I was single, I dreaded Valentine's Day. But thinking about it, that yearly visit from Cupid isn't only dreaded by singletons, but also by those unhappily married. Take a peek at how the men of one family solve Cupid's mistakes.
Ericka Scott is a multi-published, bestselling author of seductive suspense. She's written stories for as long as she can remember and reads anything under the sun (including the back of cereal boxes in a pinch). She got hooked on romantic suspense in her college days, when reading anything but a textbook was a guilty pleasure. Now, when she’s not chauffeuring children around, wishing she had more than 24 hours in a day, or lurking at the library, she’s spinning her own web of fantasy and penning tales of seduction and suspense. She currently lives in Southern California with her husband and three children.

Taste of Kiwi » Leopards at Amberkatze’s Book Blog – Win an ebook!
The Scarlet Woman tour continues at Amberkatze’s Book Blog today. I’m talking about both Scarlet Woman and leopards and giving away a download from the Middlemarch Mates series.
Here’s the blurb for Scarlet Woman:
Emily Scarlet’s husband left her for his secretary and died in a car accident—all on the same day. Now, six months later, Emily has emerged from her chrysalis of painful memories. And to prove she has what it takes to attract a man, she’s determined to experience one perfect night of passion.
Feline shape shifter, Saber Mitchell has a problem with his four boisterous younger brothers. They’re out of control. It’s too late for him, but he hopes to get his brothers mated and settled, and the ball is the place to introduce them to marriageable women.
Unbridled sex is the last thing he plans on, but one glimpse of Emily Scarlet changes his mind. Sex with her is a necessity. They dance. They make love.
One thing is clear—a single night isn’t enough. Saber must have her for his mate, but Emily isn’t so easy to convince…or trust.
In Scarlet Woman news, I’ve received a wonderful review from I Do Not Want To Wait, I Want The Book Now. Here are the highlights: “I can’t recommend this book enough! Plenty of hot sex, many LOL moments, and a heroine that you can’t help but relate to. It was flat-out fun and just what I needed at that moment.”
In Cat Burglar news, I’ve received a …

Building Castles – Kelly Jamieson's Blog » And the reviews just keep coming!
Here's the latest: Just Erotic Romance Reviews Newsletter gave RIGGER 4.5 STARS –
“I was very pleasantly surprised at the depth of the plot and the very real relationship issues these two had to deal with…The supporting characters… felt believable and meaningfully contributed to the overall plot…I very much enjoyed all the rope bondage scenes as they were well-written and built up the sexual tension… Ms. Jamieson is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. Pick up Rigger and you’ll see why."
Thank you to Laura Scott of Just Erotic Romance Reviews!
I think I should go write another book now.

Taste of Kiwi » Time for a Drink
We came across these mountain goats on the side of the road near Mt. Rushmore. Hubby and I were more excited about seeing them than the president’s faces. The animals ignored us as they took a drink from the water that trickled down a rock face.

The Rantings & Ravings of Jeanne St. James » Cats Vs. Dogs and why I write Cats by Eliza Gayle
Cats Vs. Dogs and why I write Cats
I’ve always thought of myself as a cat person even though I love lots of animals. I have a hard time resisting any kittens or puppies, and I currently have a dog. A husky which in many ways resembles a wolf. But my real reason for writing cougar shifters first was because of a trip to a Wildlife center here in North Carolina.
I had already decided on cats before then because I find the big kitties wildly beautiful. I love to watch them run. So much power packed into a smallish body. They are deceptively beautiful and whenever we are close to one we instinctively know they are much stronger than us. Combining that power and beauty with human intelligence just made sense to me.
Settling on a cougar took a little more time. I though about Jaguars, leopards, lions, you name it. The setting for this series is in the North Carolina mountains and I wanted to write about an animal you would actually find here. Bobcats are the most prevalent but they are so small and I just couldn’t see my big strapping heroes as overgrown house cats. When in my research I stumbled upon a Native American myth about the elusive Black Cougar here in our mountains everything clicked and I knew where I was headed.
Back to that trip to the Wildlife center. It was cougar day and they were having professionals come in and talk about cougars and … [Link]
